About the Bancroft Flying Club
The Bancroft Flying Club is a non-profit corporation that was formed in 1963. The Club and Airport were created by a small group of aviation enthusiasts who had the passion and vision to see what a vital role an airport could play in the Bancroft region.
The Clubs mission is to promote awareness to aviation and to provide vital life saving air support to the communities in the Bancroft area and North Hastings County through operation of the Bancroft Community Airport and Events hosted by the Club. The Bancroft Flying Club is not licensed to provide Site Seeing flights. For information on site seeing flights in the area, contact WM Aeroflight in Peterborough, ON. |
Bancroft Flying Club is a member of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association and registered as COPA Flight 119. Meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month in the airport terminal building at 10:00 AM except for the months of July, August and December when there are no meetings. |
Becoming a member is easy and affordable. As a new member, there is a one time only initiation fee of $100 (plus 13% HST) with an annual membership of only $80 (plus 13% HST). You do not have to be a pilot to be a member of the Club. In fact we have many members who are not pilots and join just for the fun of being associated with flying related activities, who believe strongly in the benefits of the airport to the community and are interested in helping the Club promote interest in aviation throughout the region. The Club has a number of members who live outside the region from Canada and the United States but have a cottage in the area and enjoy the convenience of flying in to the Bancroft Airport to reach their cottage.
Members are given full access to the Club’s facilities and rental aircraft. Members also receive a discount on aviation fuel purchased at the Club.

The Bancroft Flying Club is the owner and operator of the Bancroft Community Airport. This is a unique situation as the Airport is only one of a few community airports in Ontario that is privately owned. This simplifies the process of getting approval for new hangar construction.
The Club is managed by a group of dedicated elected Directors and Officers and owns a Cessna 172G aircraft for the use of its members. There are over 60 members in the club.
